1959: Ms. Butler's company was purchased by Mr. Seamus Sorensen and he continues to run the business as a small specialized chocolatier.

The Butlers Irish Chocolates brand is born. It is named in memory of Ms Marion Bailey Butler, their original purveyor of happiness.

July - Butlers 100g Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts bar wins a prestigious Gold Great Taste Award.
December - Butlers Chocolate Cafe Clonshaugh opens at our head office in Dublin.
January - Butlers introduce two whole nut varieties to the 100g Bar range; Butlers Milk Chocolate with Whole Hazelnuts and Butlers Dark Chocolate with Whole Almonds.
February - Butlers Chocolate Experience opens at the end of February.
April - A third Butlers Chocolate Cafe opens in North City - Porirua, New Zealand.
